It's a Wonderful Life...

Hello Polished People! I again have a ruined computer so I have not been able to post... never said I stopped taking pics though! I just got an HP mini laptop it's so cute! I am in the process of getting a wireless card so I will be ready to show more pics soon.

This dress has taken the cake in my closet... I got a text from a friend one day telling me her great aunt passed and she had a dress stored in a trunk that was perfect for me. The friend took my address and not only sent the dress to me overnight she included a check for the dry cleaning bill. She was a class act and I love her for allowing me to take over this decadent dress. It is still in great shape... very heavy material so I can wear all fall and winter... you will see this dress again with TIGHTS and a cardigan... thank you Shannon :)

Little Mermaid

I LOVE THAT MOVIE! When I get to Heaven I hope God turns me into a mermaid for a few centuries with long red hair and cute little sea shells LOL... I am partially serious ;)

When Love Takes Over...

Another ME day. Ya know...when you are feeling yaself :) My confidence has been on 10 lately and I like feeling like the Vinay I knew from way back! 

This is one of my best skirts. It is not revealing but still has a form fit. I'm sure I have had this on in at least three post... don't judge me ;)

I feel like I am getting my creativity back also. I even picked a pen up and started drawing again. I guess I have always had an inkling my destiny would literally be beautiful. Decorated with makeup, fashion, and endless talents to devour them all!

I am non stop day dreaming and mentally preparing to finally unleash all my energy into one thing. A passion. So yea... I am excited about a LOT!

I just have to remind myself that it's better to try and fail then to have never tried at all :)

Fool Me Twice...

DOUBLE time again! I found this shirt in the thrift store over the weekend. It caught my eye because of the sleeves. I loved them!

Now the pattern of the shirt is quite hideous... like a plaid-checkered table cloth or something... not cute. But the sleeves made me take it anyway... I thought it was a nice and sophisticated fit. Seems like I was the only one LOL... Quick update, me and the guy are working on things. I am happier than ever :) Needless to say he was not a fan of this shirt haha!

So I wore it anyway. Intentionally to prove the shirt can look awesome... what do you all think? This still didn't catch his eye so today I wore it to work with a red pencil skirt... keep reading to check out the look...

Woman on a mission LOL... to prove this shirt ROCKS DANGIT!

I figured since the top was more "flowy" the skirt or bottom half should be very structured. 

I felt like a young woman in the 1950s breaking down racial and gender barriers to land a position as partner at an all white law firm. I felt like I paid homage to a time when fashion was elegant... :)

And what did the guy have to say "Aww that shirt again, you can't blog it twice" LOL I guess because he is the photogh he is now Mr.PoisedNPolished lol smuah thanks honey :)

I promised myself that I would learn photoshop. Something I have wanted to do for a long time but keep putting off. I think I could do MORE with my photography if I learned more about how to make a pic AWESOME!

I felt a little OVER dressed today but I was rushing and this is what happened LOL... people loved it though, so it worked :)

I actually have not been doing too much except READING like crazy! I mean about 7 books in the last two months. I love reading!

Now onto the outfit... these shorts are probably my favorite things right now. They are silk and feel so soft and well silky LOL

A Lovely Day

I went to church today to hear a friend preach. I had not been in a while because of differnt things like weddings, family events and I just needed a break.

Since my last post I have been going through a lot of things but today was a much needed pick-me-up. I am grateful for my friends!

I got this dress from a Goodwill hmmm...about 4 years ago. I usually only wear it one time per year and each time I LOVE IT! It's one of my unique pieces that just makes me feel so good!

Man... yesterday was so PERFECT...

This necklace gets SO many compliments! Now I see why, it's  gorgeous!!! Oooh Lala!

I cut my toe REALLY bad at some point on these rocks! I can't wear heels for a while it hurts so bad!

Every time I go outside I get about TEN shades darker! I do love the toasty golden look though!

I am going to miss my dog, I will miss the guy... But you can't always have a perfect day.. sad to report I am now single :(... heartbreak is something.

Two Timer...

I'm going to do a 2-in-1 post today wearing the same top two different ways. I got this top from Buckle and it's so easy I throw it on with anything!

I haven't worn this out (yet) just playing dress up with myself LOL

I think it looks pretty polished. WIth the right jewelry... can't quite see the vision for that yet so I went with a long necklace and no earrings. 

Yea... I might wear this. I think it would look amazing with a white cardigan...not sure why. Or bright yellow!

Here is a better pic of the ring. Funny story: I wore this to church one day and my bestie says "I had a ring like that" and I say "this IS your ring, I had it for about 3 years now" LOL... yea... still have it ;)

A linen MINI and peep toes!

The border on the top made me remember a skirt I had in my closet! It's too short to wear most places but I throw it on with flats when I run errands. That and a plain or graphic tee. Simple!

That's a necklace wrapped around my hand. I wanted to make it a bracelet but I was scared it would fall apart if pulled too tight. But this actually works. Looks kinda neat ;)

I bet I could wear a belt to cinch this in... but then again it's supposed to be really easy and no fuss. I like it like this...

Close Call...

My poor pup Mimi was so sick the other day we had to rush her to the hospital! She had a heat stroke and was slowly slipping away :(.... they gave her fluids under her skin and she slept it off and was back in action the next day. I was so scared! I love her :)

I don't remember where I wore this outfit. Probably just a regular weekend romp I bet. 

My guy picked these shorts for me. Not something I would normally wear but I liked it once it all came together!

The shorts are SUPER comfy... too bad they are not allowed at work. They have to touch your calf BOOOO!!! lol
