Ok... so I am trying this dress on just for fun... when I wear it for real it will be decked out with nice shoes...hair and makeup. It's a burnt orange sheath style by Ralph Lauren. To die for in person. The camera is not capturing how rich this color is! Can't wait to wear it!!!I have the perfect shoes in mind... stay tuned for this one.

This lady at church was giving away these booties. They are Anne Klein... so I snatched them up :) I can't wait to wear them with some dark skinnies...

Global Warming...

Hello Polished People... I promise to buy a tripod ASAP so I can get back on my blogging business!

I have been wanting some army green skinnies for a while... FINALLY FOUND THEM! I got them in a nice gray/blue color as well. They are so comfy and cutesy!

I wore this to work today I will be doing something similar this weekend for a date ;)

Of course I had to bring the color of my pants into the jewelry. I think it created a nice splash of color!

I'll Stop the World...

Ever so often I come across a dress that stops everything. This is the one for the moment. I could not believe I seen this is perfect condition hanging on a rack in my local thrift store

This is SO Jackie O... a coat dress. I'm amazed at this piece. It had the perfect fit and I will keep it in my wardrobe for a LONG time!

This is so cutesy... the camera is not even capturing how deep and brilliant the orange is. I'm in love looking at the pictures. haha... I look at these all the time :)

The Sunday I wore it the temperature was 50 degrees. I just put a scarf and gloves on to complete the look. No need for a coat. The dress was thick and warm!

There is a close up of the gloves, those were thrifted also. I got these last winter and finally started wearing them. They are Lady Stetson lol... And the leopard scarf I have been looking for for over a year now. FINALLY GOT ONE!!!

Hello... my last post was September 15th? Bad blogger!!! I can't even explain all the things that went wrong and then went right in my life since that time. So let's skip the talking and get right into the clothing!

I got this wonderful skirt from Forever 21. Oh wow... Heaven. 

It's a stretchy cotton and I can roll the top up to make it shorter. But I like it long!

I have had this jacket for a while now. I used to wear it as a coat but today wore it like a blouse/blazer. It worked!

I'm in the process of growing my short haircut out. Trying to see how long and healthy I can get it! So I'm rocking some protective styles for now. Looks like I have a lot of missed time to make up. Hopefully I won't stay away so long this time :)

It's a Wonderful Life...

Hello Polished People! I again have a ruined computer so I have not been able to post... never said I stopped taking pics though! I just got an HP mini laptop it's so cute! I am in the process of getting a wireless card so I will be ready to show more pics soon.

This dress has taken the cake in my closet... I got a text from a friend one day telling me her great aunt passed and she had a dress stored in a trunk that was perfect for me. The friend took my address and not only sent the dress to me overnight she included a check for the dry cleaning bill. She was a class act and I love her for allowing me to take over this decadent dress. It is still in great shape... very heavy material so I can wear all fall and winter... you will see this dress again with TIGHTS and a cardigan... thank you Shannon :)

Little Mermaid

I LOVE THAT MOVIE! When I get to Heaven I hope God turns me into a mermaid for a few centuries with long red hair and cute little sea shells LOL... I am partially serious ;)

When Love Takes Over...

Another ME day. Ya know...when you are feeling yaself :) My confidence has been on 10 lately and I like feeling like the Vinay I knew from way back! 

This is one of my best skirts. It is not revealing but still has a form fit. I'm sure I have had this on in at least three post... don't judge me ;)

I feel like I am getting my creativity back also. I even picked a pen up and started drawing again. I guess I have always had an inkling my destiny would literally be beautiful. Decorated with makeup, fashion, and endless talents to devour them all!

I am non stop day dreaming and mentally preparing to finally unleash all my energy into one thing. A passion. So yea... I am excited about a LOT!

I just have to remind myself that it's better to try and fail then to have never tried at all :)

Fool Me Twice...

DOUBLE time again! I found this shirt in the thrift store over the weekend. It caught my eye because of the sleeves. I loved them!

Now the pattern of the shirt is quite hideous... like a plaid-checkered table cloth or something... not cute. But the sleeves made me take it anyway... I thought it was a nice and sophisticated fit. Seems like I was the only one LOL... Quick update, me and the guy are working on things. I am happier than ever :) Needless to say he was not a fan of this shirt haha!

So I wore it anyway. Intentionally to prove the shirt can look awesome... what do you all think? This still didn't catch his eye so today I wore it to work with a red pencil skirt... keep reading to check out the look...

Woman on a mission LOL... to prove this shirt ROCKS DANGIT!

I figured since the top was more "flowy" the skirt or bottom half should be very structured. 

I felt like a young woman in the 1950s breaking down racial and gender barriers to land a position as partner at an all white law firm. I felt like I paid homage to a time when fashion was elegant... :)

And what did the guy have to say "Aww that shirt again, you can't blog it twice" LOL I guess because he is the photogh he is now Mr.PoisedNPolished lol smuah thanks honey :)

I promised myself that I would learn photoshop. Something I have wanted to do for a long time but keep putting off. I think I could do MORE with my photography if I learned more about how to make a pic AWESOME!

A Lovely Day

I went to church today to hear a friend preach. I had not been in a while because of differnt things like weddings, family events and I just needed a break.

Since my last post I have been going through a lot of things but today was a much needed pick-me-up. I am grateful for my friends!

I got this dress from a Goodwill hmmm...about 4 years ago. I usually only wear it one time per year and each time I LOVE IT! It's one of my unique pieces that just makes me feel so good!

Man... yesterday was so PERFECT...

This necklace gets SO many compliments! Now I see why, it's  gorgeous!!! Oooh Lala!

I cut my toe REALLY bad at some point on these rocks! I can't wear heels for a while it hurts so bad!

Every time I go outside I get about TEN shades darker! I do love the toasty golden look though!

I am going to miss my dog, I will miss the guy... But you can't always have a perfect day.. sad to report I am now single :(... heartbreak is something.
